About the event
Élise LeBlanc crafts hopeful, earthy songs inspired by classic country, bluegrass, and western swing. Her lyrics celebrate vulnerability, resilience, and the beauty of the simple life. Backed by her lively string band The Ridgeriders, her storytelling comes to life with guitar, fiddle, mandolin, upright bass, and heartfelt vocal harmonies. This intimate concert will feature the fiery fiddle playing of band member Ali Romanow + special guests. Élise is making a new record in May 2023 with Victoria-based producer Leeroy Stagger. Based in Courtenay, BC, she's been performing at festivals and concerts on and around Vancouver Island since 2018.
In 2013, FACTOR Canada (The Foundation for Canadian Talent on Recordings) awarded Élise with two grants to record and promote her debut album, Runaway Kites. As a former resident of Portland, Oregon, she was a 2016 finalist in the Great American Song Contest for her song “Diamond Soul”.
"Her voice captivated the room from the first song...She writes a tune that resonates with the English soul scene, comparable to Lisa Hannigan and Adele. Look out for her new album..." -Oregon Music News
